Famous Bostonians mural is installed.

Artist: Joshua Winer. It is located on an exterior wall of the DuBarry Restaurant at 157-159 Newbury Street. The outgrowth of a contest sponsored by the restaurant, it depicts 81 famous Bostonians in a French café scene. One panel includes (standing, left to right) N.C. Wyeth, H.H. Richardson, John Singleton Copley, Isabella Stewart Gardner, John Harvard, Winslow Homer, Charles Bulfinch, and Frederick Law Olmsted, and (seated) John Singer Sargent, Anne Whitney, and Jospeh Welch. Others depicted include Amy Beach, Alexander Graham Bell, Leonard Bernstein, Bette Davis, Sammy Davis Jr., Frederick Douglass, Arthur Fiedler, King Gillette, Nathaniel Hawthorne, John F. Kennedy, Babe Ruth, and John Collins Warren. After the restaurant closes and the building is sold, despite efforts to preserve the mural, it is removed from the brick wall.
